Art, beaches, tapas & more
Gorgeous food, sunshine, world-famous art & architecture: Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, is one of the great cities of the world for a reason! Visitors will find themselves spoilt for choice among marvellous attractions of all kinds. If you are planning on a city break in Barcelona, you should allow around 3–4 days, if possible. Long-ish for a city break, but so worth it (trust us!).

Here are some of the things you shouldn't miss while you are there:
Antoni Gaudís Masterpieces
In travel literature, posters - anywhere, in fact, where there is mention of Barcelona - you will see the wonderfully quirky turrets & gorgeous colours that are so distinctive of Gaudís art. His creations include the Sagrada Família (which has been under construction for more than a century!), Parc Güell, and Casa Batlló.

Museums and Galleries
Even those who are not avid museum-goers will find themselves blown away by Barcelona's Museu Picasso and the Fundació Joan Miró. Here you will find truly breathtaking art. The trip to Montjuïc Hill on which the Fundació Joan Miró is located is also totally worth it for the stunning city views it offers.

Gothic Quarter (Barri Gòtic)
Narrow winding streets, charming shops, cafés & bars, Barcelona's Barri Gòtic is a unique place, where ancient Roman ruins and medieval architecture blend with modern attractions.

Food & drink
Tapas, anyone? Enjoy a collection of authentic Barcelona specialities - from locally grown olives to Tortilla de patatas, Chipirones and, of course, some genuine chorizo. Those with a sweet tooth will fall in love with crema catalana (a dessert similar to crème brûlée) and churros con chocolate.

Beaches
Barcelona is home to over 4.5 km of gorgeous sandy beaches. A great place to spend an afternoon relaxing after a busy morning's sightseeing!
