Take a trip to Oslo for a break in a city full of fabulous sights & history, fun entertainment & experiences, all set amidst stunning coastal scenery.

Discover the capital of the Vikings (and much more!)
The great sea-faring city of Oslo offers a fascinating historical journey. Visit the Viking Ship Museum to see awesome preserved ships from Norways Viking Age. While you're there, you should also head over to the Kon-Tiki Museum, dedicated to Thor Heyerdahl's amazing journey. Sailing buffs will also love the Norwegian Maritime Museum.

And then there's the magnificent Royal Palace to explore, the residence of Norways monarch. We would also recommend a visit to the highly photogenic Akershus Fortress with its stunning views!

Art & culture
Oslo is a city of cultural treasures: At the Munch Museum you will find iconic works by one of the sity's most famous residents, Edvard Munch, including The Scream. For contemporary art, the Astrup Fearnley Museum is a must-see. Dont miss the National Gallery, home to many Norwegian art masterpieces.

Fabulous walks
Take a scenic stroll along the Oslofjord, or wander through the lush Vigeland Park, where you'll find oodles of marvellous sculptures. For a unique experience, hike up Holmenkollen for utterly breathtaking views of the city and the fjord (Tip: The metro can actually take you most of the way up!). At the top, you'll also be able to see the famous Holmenkollen ski jump.

Famous architecture
Oslos architecture is striking, from the modern Oslo Opera House, where you can go up to the roof for fab views (how cool is that!), to the unique design of the Oslo City Hall, known for its vibrant murals. The Barcode district, on the other hand, is home to some truly Insta-worthy futuristic skyscrapers.

Food & drink
Oslo is the home of cosy cafés! Relax over coffee and sample some yummy Norwegian deserts. We recommend the Multekrem, a heavenly combination of whipped cream, cloudberries & confectioner's sugar.

Oslo also has a growing culinary scene which makes the most of Norway's superb fresh seafood. Fiskeriet is its most famous fish market & seafood restaurant. Be sure to also try some traditional Norwegian raspeballer (potato dumplings).
Best time to visit: April to October, plus December for the Xmas markets
