Ancient wonders & art galore in Rome
Visit Italy's capital and let yourself be amazed by over 2,500 years of history. Artefacts from ancient Rome, beautiful churches & the treasures of the Vatican are just some of the amazing sights that await you in this vibrant capital.

Here are some of our favourite things to see & do:

Ancient Ruins
Rome is steeped in history, its ancient ruins & monuments famous all over the world.
Visit the Colosseum, Rome's giant arena, and see first-hand where the gladiators fought. You can see why this place has inspired so many books & movies - it is like stepping back in time!

Situated close to the Colosseum, you'll find the Forum Romanum, with its distinctive columns. This is where laws were made, meetings were held & triumphal processions took place - the heart of ancient Rome!

Roman Architecture
Prepare to be amazed by the Pantheon. This grand, former Roman temple sports what remains to this day the worlds largest unreinforced concrete dome.

Explore the Basilica di San Clemente. This unique church features three levels that were added at different periods in time, from ancient Rome to medieval times.

Vatican City
Home of the pope and the heart of the Catholic Church, this city-state within Rome, packs treasure upon treasure into its 109 acres. Here you will see the famous St. Peters Basilica, the Vatican Museums, and the Sistine Chapel with its breathtaking ceiling painted by Michelangelo.

Stunning views
Rome is nothing short of stunning and offers mesmerising views. Some of the greatest panoramas can be seen from the fabulous Spanish Steps, and the Castel Sant'Angelo fortress from where you can look across the Tiber.

Gorgeous food & drink
From delicious, authentic pizza & pasta to gelato & espresso, in Rome those who love Italian cuisine will find themselves in foodie paradise.

How much time should you spend in a city like Rome? Its hustle & bustle (it is, after all, one of the busiest cities in the world) can be a lot to take in, so we would suggest 3-4 days for a city break. Because, after all, you can always come back! So be sure to throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain. Watched over by the god Oceanus, it is said that an offering here ensures that the traveller will return to Rome.
Best time to visit: Autumn & spring. It can get VERY hot in the summer.
