Experience Reykjavik & Beyond
Visit Icelands fascinating coastal capital and be amazed by incredible landscapes and dazzling natural wonders! Here are some things to look forward to:

Reykjavik heritage
Reykjavik, Icelands vibrant capital, is steeped in exciting Viking heritage. This makes a trip to Iceland's National Museum anything other than boring! Here, you'll get the opportunity to explore the countrys gripping history from its earliest days to modern times. While you're there, stop off to look at the iconic Alþing, one of the worlds oldest surviving parliaments.

Icelandic art & culture
Reykjavik is a hub of creativity, with cutting-edge galleries and live performances. Especially in the winter, this lively city really comes into its own! Regardless of the time of your visit, make your way to the Reykjavik Art Museum, and you'll get the idea. Perhaps even take in a show at the National Theatre and visit some of the citys lively music venues.

Reykjavik & beyond: Walks & excursions
Take a walk (or better still, rent a bike & cycle!) along the citys hugely photogenic, scenic waterfront: There is so much to see along here... It's a popular place for artists, runner, cyclists, walkers - everyone, really!

If you have the time, you should make your way out to the Golden Circle. Located just outside Reykjavik, here you'll find an incredible array of geysers, waterfalls, as well as the stunning Thingvellir National Park.

Reykjavik architecture
Love unique architecture? Prepare to be amazed! Reykjavik is home to buildings that are nothing short of striking, from the unique Hallgrímskirkja Church with its futuristic design to the sleek all-glass Harpa Concert Hall, which reflects the citys modern aesthetic.

Icelandic food & drink
As unconventional as everything else about Iceland, the country's cuisine is interesting & flavourful. Enjoy seafood dishes like lobster soup or try traditional Icelandic lamb. You may, however, want to stay away from the hákarl! (Iceland's national dish of fermented shark).

For something sweet, indulge in skyr, a creamy yoghurt-like, dairy product, and visit one of the city's cosy cafés for a cup of Icelandic coffee.
Best time to visit: anytime! Seriously, even during the winter, a city break in Reykjavik is an incredible experience!
